Hispanic artists shows revolution in the form of art

Rockford, IL — Mario Martinez of GuerillArt is hosting an artshow on Saturday, May. 8th, 2010 7pm–2am at the Studio 451 (2500 N. Main St., Rockford, IL 61103). The artshow will showcase Hispanic artists as they give their portrayal of what revolution means to them in the form or artwork and performances. 

This is the second show of its kind, and the first show had an approximate attendance of 300 people. Revolusenerio will be sponsored by The Hip Hop Congress of Rockford,IL, Saturated Threads, and The Rockford Arts Council. We have 12 artists set to perform/display their art, and they will also be available for any questions. Most of the artists are Rockfordians in the Hispanic community, but there will be artwork from California to be displayed and performance art from Wisconsin will be performed. Performance art will be in the form of spoken word and poetry that will be themed around revolution. The music provided by three live DJ will range through various generations and genres of music, which will enhance the experience for all in attendance. The artshow is free to attend, so please come and support the artists and their artwork.
