Hip Hop Congress earlier this week came together online to see what we could do collectively as an organization to help raise money and support for the victims of Haiti.
We have come up with the idea for a mixtape, only we have a little bit of a different approach in regards how we'd like to promote it. Here how it works:

What is RAMI?
Each year the RAMI organization hosts several events to help fund the Gary S. Wilmer RAMI Music Scholarship and to promote the local music community. Our premier event is the RAMI Awards Ceremony which is held in April each year. The RAMI Awards recognize and celebrate the efforts of groups and individuals who have involvement in the local music community. Other events include a benefit, held in March each year, featuring some of the premier retro/pop bands in the area.

Midwest Monsters and Hip Hop Congress of Rockford,IL presents Soul Invasion 2: 7 to smoke edition $5 to get in (free w/ hip hop congress t-shirt)
prelims: Split the battlers into 2 separate 7 to smoke battles (time-based on # of battlers)
semi-finals: The 2 highest scores from each 7 to smoke battle will battle in a one on one (2 rounds each)
finals: The winners of the semi-finals go head to head in a one on one (3 rounds each)
Special Exhibition: Judges 7 to smoke - $50 cash prize
There is a reason why there are 5 judges! 5 judges is the perfect number for a 7 to smoke, and how this will work is that the judges that are waiting in line to battle in the 7 to smoke will judge the current 7 to smoke match. That means that there is at least 3 judges to judge the match. The nature of the seven to smoke also means that the judges will most likely change each match as wins and loses occur. $50 to the winner!
